Be in the moment.
In the Crypt of St James’, the audience sits in darkness, a glass of wine in hand, shielded from the frantic outside world, listening to the beauty of the cello.
These hugely popular Bach in the Dark concerts are the brainchild of cellist, Rachel Scott. Throughout the series, Rachel is joined by a number of guests, presenting music of J.S. Bach and inspired by the German Baroque master composer.
Rachel Scott is a renowned cellist and educator. She is Education Manager for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation, her work for which extended to Mary Mackillop International in educating teachers and underprivileged children Timor-Leste. In addition to being in demand as a chamber musician, Rachel works closely with the ACO, facilitating interactive concerts and workshops.
The concerts listed here are held in the St James’ Crypt.
