Bells and Bell-ringing

Home/Welcome/Bells and Bell-ringing

The bells of St James’ were hung in 2003 (in the church there is a plaque to commemorate that ceremony), and a band of interested parishioners was formed soon after. The bells are usually run prior to the 9:00am and 11:00am Sunday services, at some Evensong services, and at special festival services.

The members of the St James’ Guild of Bell-ringers are active participants in bell-ringing competitions and festivals.

The bells can be booked for weddings, funerals and other special occasions by arrangement. For more information about the bells themselves, please click here.
