International Organ Festival: Vincent Dubois, Notre-Dame Reborn

Introduction
One of the great organists of our time comes to St James’ for a recital full of drama, colour and sheer virtuosity.
Vincent Dubois, titular organist of Notre-Dame de Paris, brings a programme that moves from Bach’s taut brilliance to the lyricism of Franck, the blazing toccata of Vierne, and the vast emotional architecture of Reubke’s Sonata.
Duruflé’s tribute to Alain adds elegance and fire, before Dubois crowns the evening with his own transcriptions from Ravel’s Le tombeau de Couperin. This is music of grandeur, poetry, and thrilling immediacy on Australia’s newest pipe organ.
