For over 200 years St James’ King Street has been a constant Christian presence at the heart of the city of Sydney.
We welcome everyone, regardless of social standing, sexuality, race, gender identity or religion. We respect both our heritage and that of the traditional custodians of this land, while shaping our future through excellence in music, education and worship.
Our services are drawn from the rich liturgical tradition of Anglicanism, incorporating services from the Book of Common Prayer (Matins and Evensong) and Holy Communion (Eucharist) from A Prayer Book from Australia.
Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals
St James’ Church has hotsted countless baptisms, marriages and funerals since 1824 until the present day. As Christians, we see profound resonance to these markers of life as we celebrate new birth, covenant relationship, or provide comfort and support as we mourn with each other before our God.
