The Sydney Conservatorium of Music Wind Quintet brings together five outstanding young musicians from one of Australia’s leading music institutions for an engaging program of chamber music at St James’ Wednesday Lunchtime Concert. Showcasing the distinctive colours of brass, the ensemble presents a repertoire that ranges from classical favourites to vibrant contemporary works. Renowned for their technical excellence, musical sensitivity and collaborative artistry, these emerging performers offer audiences an opportunity to experience the rich tradition of wind chamber music in the beautiful acoustic setting of St James’ Church. This concert continues the St James’ commitment to supporting the next generation of Australian musicians while providing inspiring lunchtime performances in the heart of Sydney.

InFront Brass (Brass Quintet)

Bio:

InFront Brass is an upcoming brass quintet founded at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The group enjoys performing a diverse range of repertoire from brass quintet classics to arrangements of popular classical pieces. Infront Brass has had the privilege of learning from some of Sydney’s most esteemed brass educators, including Scott Kinmont, Ben Jacks and Leanne Sullivan. The group regularly performs in concerts at the Conservatorium, including lunch time concerts and the annual Brass Day. They have also had the fortune to play in a masterclass with Andrew Bain (Principal horn of LA Philharmonic, LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet), and most recently attended the Australian Festival of Chamber Music in 2025 as a part of the Pathways program in which they received lessons in professional development as well as masterclasses with numerous internationally acclaimed chamber musicians including Stefan Dohr and Jack Liebeck.
